In 2012, 2Smooth released his first single and music video “Everyday,” as a solo artist. The song and video made 2Smooth an international, overnight sensation and caused a bidding war between a few major labels. At that time, 2Smooth chose to continue as an indie artist. “Everyday” became the lead single from his debut album “1st World Slave, 3rd World King,” released in 2013.
That year, 2Smooth signed a distribution deal for callback & ringtones with worldwide distributors, including “Dream Music”, “iTunes ” & “Nokia.”
Well, the numbers are in. The ringtone and caller ringback tone has now officially sold over half a million copies to date, worldwide. Congratulations are in order, as 2Smooth becomes one of only a handful of independent artists to hit that milestone. Also, 2Smooth’s singles “Ryder Music” & “Burn Baby Burn” are expected to hit a similar mark in the next few months.
When asked his thoughts about the milestone, 2Smooth had the following to say:
“The fans and people who pushed that song are the ones who deserve the plaque… I was just a kid making music when that song came out. I had no idea it would become what it did. The reach of that single makes me feel humbled! “Everyday” is what gave me my wings, so thank you! To all the amazing people, who helped make that project what it is today, THANK YOU & I love all of you”
